Reader Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars)
This may be a ghost story, but it’s unlike any ghost story you’ve ever encountered before.
When I first began reading this book, I had no idea what was going on, and the intense nature of some of its content made me uncomfortable. If I hadn’t had to read it for class, I probably would’ve given up partway through. However, by the time I finished it, my perspective on the story had changed; it had grown on me, and its prose is incredibly beautiful. I genuinely enjoyed the story as a whole.
Language: 4/10 (Frequent swearing).
Sex: 2/10 (Detailed depictions of sexual encounters).
Violence and gore: 4/10 (Realistic but unnerving depictions of violence and gore).

Characters: 7/10 (Interesting characters with human flaws exasperated to emphasize the underlying message of the novel).
