“Reminders of Him” by Colleen Hoover

Book on blue background

Disclaimer: I did not finish reading this book.

I knew going into this book that most Colleen Hoover novels are “spicy,” but one of my friends recommended it to me, so I gave it a shot. It seems like a really meaningful premise, but I couldn’t get more than 35 pages in before it was too spicy for my taste, and I had to set it aside.

Language: 4/10 (Frequent swearing).
Sex: 2/10 (Glorification of immorality).
Violence and gore: 10/10 (No violence or gore, as far as I know).

Plot: 7/10 (From what I read, it seemed like it would be a really touching story).
Characters: 7/10 (Besides the fact that the main characters jumped into the sexual content super quickly, they seemed really well thought-out).
Writing style: 4/10 (Too much swearing and sex for me. If most of Hoover’s books are like this, I won’t be reading more of them).

Genre: Adult literature, realistic fiction, romance
Potential triggers: Car accident, separation from child, etc.
Is this book part of a series? No.
I would not recommend this book to anyone younger than 18.
