I saw the movie years ago and loved it. This book was just as suspenseful. I felt a powerful connection to the characters and loved every second of the story, despite all the swearing.
Language: 3/10 (Swearing often).
Sex: 8/10 (Rare allusions to sex).
Violence and gore: 8/10 (Minimal gore).
Plot: 8.5/10 (So compelling and believable).
Characters: 9.5/10 (Realistic and unique).
Writing style: 9/10 (Somehow, he made science interesting to me, which is no small feat!)
Genre: Young adult literature, adult literature, science fiction
Potential triggers: Abandonment, isolation, etc.
Is this book part of a series? No.
I would recommend this book to anyone 16+ with a high swearing tolerance.
