To say that I loved this book would be an understatement. It is a masterpiece! If you’re a fan of fairytales, but also a fan of epic, dark stories, go find this book at your local library as soon as you can. You won’t regret it!
Language: 10/10 (No swearing at all).
Sex: 8.5/10 (Mild/rare allusions to sex).
Violence and gore: 7/10 (Not detailed or extensive).
Plot: 10/10 (This book…oh my gosh. First of all, the mythology of this world is captivating. Second of all, this might be the most clever retelling of Rumpelstiltskin ever. In the history of ever. I like it better than the original story. Genius!)
Characters: 9/10 (The side characters, such as the characters at the inn, felt a little flat and unrealistic, but everything else was perfectly on point!)
Writing style: 9/10 (I admit, I skipped a couple of overly-detailed descriptions that became a tiny bit boring).
Genre: New adult literature, adult literature, fantasy fiction
Potential triggers: Loss of loved ones, death, murder, etc.
Is this book part of a series? Yes.
I would recommend this book to anyone 15+.
