I was gifted this book by its author a couple years ago at a writing convention and didn’t get around to actually reading it until recently. It was such a delightful, easy read! It’s definitely one that warms my little romantic heart. 

Language: 10/10 (No swearing).
Sex: 9.5/10 (Rare mentions of sex).
Violence and gore: 6/10 (PG action movie)

Plot: 7/10 (The plot itself is well-done, but had it been more character-driven, I think it could’ve been a little bit better. However, overall, it kept things interesting!)
Characters: 5/10 (Not entirely realistic or relatable, but still compelling and endearing. Every woman dreams of someone as observant and protective as Zan! But the characters are too unrealistic to be completely believable, and Zan has a couple of characteristics that I think are a little bit toxic/red flags).
Writing style: 6/10 (I noticed quite a few typos and incorrect grammar, but the imagery was beautiful and rarely distracting).

Genre: Adult literature, new adult literature, realistic fiction, closed-door romance
Potential triggers: Attempted murder, being shot, etc.
Is this book part of a series? No, but the author has written a second book from about Zan’s twin brother’s love story.
I would recommend this book to clean romance lovers over the age of 16.
