I have never read a novel that has stuck with me as profoundly as this one. It practically grabbed me by the throat and kept me ripping through pages from start to finish, and then I couldn’t stop talking about it afterward. Feminists, true crime junkies, and lovers of powerful novels everywhere need to get their hands on this novel, because good gracious heavens, is it worth the read!

Language: 5/10 (Middle school/high school hallway language).
Sex: 6/10 (Regular sexual references, but depictions of reality in a tasteful manner).
Violence and gore: 4/10 (Disturbingly detailed on occasion).

Plot: 10/10 (This book was heavily inspired by true events, so while the main plot itself wasn’t original, the characters’ plots were remarkably unique and captivating).
Characters: 10/10 (Every character was multi-faceted, unique, relatable, and unapologetically individual. An impeccable cast).
Writing Style: 10/10 (Beautiful language, meaningful prose, and thought-provoking depth).

Genre: Realistic fiction, historical fiction, mystery
Potential triggers: Murder, rape, familial tension, gender inequality, discrimination based on sexuality, etc.

I would recommend this book to audiences ages 18+.
