“Princess for Hire” by Lindsey Leavitt

I’m pretty certain that every single little girl in the whole world has, at one point or another, dreamed of being a princess. In this novel, those dreams come true! Leavitt’s fantastic story allows readers to step into the world of royalty in a fabulously creative new way: even princesses need days off, right? Someone has to sub in for them!

Language: 10/10 (No swearing).
Sex: 10/10 (No sexual content).
Violence and gore: 10/10 (No violence or gore).

Plot: 8/10 (For a young reader whose dreams include being a princess and falling in love, there is no plot more perfect than this one! So creative and inviting, even if the story’s pace is a little too quick in some places).
Characters: 7/10 (Desi is an adorably relatable main character, even if she and the other players in her story are a little cliché).
Writing style: 7/10 (Bright, snappy, and full of energy. You’re never bored when you’re reading Leavitt’s work!)

Genre: Middle-grade fiction, fantasy, realistic fiction
Potential triggers: Bullying, near-drowning, etc.
Is this book part of a series? Yes!
I would recommend this book to anyone who’s ever dreamed of being royalty, no matter their age!
