Reader Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (5/5 stars)

The first book in this series made me desperate for the second, and the second did not disappoint!! Meyer is an absolute legend when it comes to storytelling, epic plots, and soft, young adult romances. I highly recommend this trilogy. I couldn’t put it down!

Language: 9/10 (Minimal mild swearing).
Sex: 10/10 (No sexual content).
Violence and gore: 6/10 (Occasional violence, rare scenes depicting disturbing gore).

Plot: 10/10 (It’s not often that I consider a sequel better than the original, but this novel certainly earned that distinction! The way the plot thickened further, even if some of the twists were predictable, was executed so well that it felt original and gritty).
Characters: 10/10 (A+ character development. Nova’s and Adrian’s ethical conflicts and inner turmoil was so well-done. I love that Meyer didn’t shy away from being authentic and dark in some places).
Writing style: 10/10 (At this point, the complaints I could raise would be so itty-bitty, they would render themselves obsolete. Brilliant writing).

Genre: Young adult literature, new adult literature, science fiction, fantasy, closed-door romance
Potential triggers: Betrayal, loss of loved ones, murder, etc.
Is this book part of a series? Yes.
I would recommend this book to readers 10+.
