Our Story
Praiseworthy Pages’ founder and editor, Abigail (Abbie) Hawkins, was raised in a household that deeply appreciated literature. However, as time went on, Abbie’s parents grew concerned about the cleanliness (language, sexual content, violence, and gore) of the books that were popular, especially since Abbie’s younger sisters devoured trending novels faster than their parents could ever hope to keep up with. Worried about what their children were being exposed to, Abbie’s parents often wished that there were a service that rated a novel’s cleanliness so that they could know if what their daughters were reading was age appropriate.
Abbie took this to heart and, in 2022, started an Instagram account dedicated solely to rating books based on cleanliness as a way for readers and parents of readers alike to be better informed about the content they were choosing to consume.
Abbie later decided to bring together Praiseworthy Pages’ growing popularity and her own passion for editing into one collaborative whole. Thus, Praiseworthy Pages was established, not only promoting the creation and publication of tasteful literature but also offering top-of-the-line editing services to authors aiming to elevate their writing from excellent to extraordinary.

Meet Our Founder and Editor
Abbie Hawkins was raised in a small town in central Utah. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University–Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in English editing, and her time there is immortalized by her written works published in the university’s art and literary journal, Outlet, and the writing center’s creative anthology, Inkblot. With experience as an editor, writing tutor, and literature enthusiast, she has helped students, hopeful college applicants, authors, and many others present their writing in the best possible light. She enjoys reading, writing, rock climbing, playing the guitar, and country dancing in her spare time.
A love of literature was instilled in Abbie from a very early age. Some of her fondest memories take place in her childhood bedroom (painted princess pink, obviously) where she listened to her parents read stories like Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo by Obert Skye, Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, and Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling aloud to her before bed. Her passion for and dedication to excellent literature drove her to cultivate her talents as an editor so that she could provide aspiring authors with the tools they need to turn their manuscripts into bestselling novels.
Abbie currently resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
